Protection, Solitude, Honesty, Renewal.
The smallest of the North American deer family, whitetail deer are crepuscular grazers, eating at dawn and dusk. Whitetails are ruminants with a 4-chambered stomach. This enables them to eat and digest tough, woody plants. Unlike horns, which are made of keratin, a whitetails antlers are true bone, which is shed in late winter and regrown each spring. Antlers, the fastest-growing living tissue in the world, are covered with a sensitive velvet as they grow.
The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.
