Swallows bodies and wings are evolutionarily adapted, enabling them to feed while in flight. Swallows are known to capture and eat insects mid-flight, but they abstain from stinging prey such as wasps and bees. The barn swallow, with its long, deeply forked tail, is the most abundant of all swallow species, thriving worldwide. The most famous residents of San Juan Capistrano, California are the clouds of cliff swallows that return faithfully each March.

The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.
