Lacking thumbs, a spider monkey uses its prehensile tail to grasp branches as it moves through the trees. Although agile in the trees, spider monkeys are clumsy on the ground, where they are more vulnerable to predators. All 9 species of spider monkey are listed as vulnerable or endangered by habitat loss and hunting by people. Spider monkeys enjoy fruit but will also eat leaves, flowers, bark, nuts, seeds, insects, spiders, and birds eggs.

The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.
