The five pointed Star is a most ancient symbol predating by centuries the six pointed Star often associated with Solomon.

Solomon the King, was the second son of David and Bathsheba and the third King of Israel. He ruled around the 10th century BC. Traditions in Hebrew, Syriac, Arabic and Ethiopic all hold that King Solomon was a master magician and that he had authority over all the spirits as he had over the birds and beasts.

The five pointed star pentagrams is one of the oldest and most potent of all Talismans. Sometimes known as the SHIELD OF SOLOMON. It has been said that this symbol will protect the seeker from all evil influences as well as preserve mankind from the machinations of evil spirits. The five points of the star have come to represent many things.

1) The five elements: Spirit, Fire, Water, Air, Earth (in descending order of authority).

2) The five Senses: Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell, Touch.

3) The five life forms: Man, Animal, Fish, Plant, Crystal.

4) Five is the number of man: The Pentagrams represents the Complete Man: Head, hands and feet (also five fingers). As a symbol of protection, it is said that no evil spirits can pass where it is displayed.
