Born in Southern Italy, Pio joined the Capuchin friars at the age of 19. While praying before the cross, he received the stigmata. He was the first priest ever to do. Stories this spread, and people began to make pilgrimages to see Padre Pio the have him hear their confessions. He started a hospital and a series of prayer groups that continue today. St Padre Pio is believed to be powerful intercessor in prayer, responsible for many spiritual healing.

The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.
