The raven is a massive, thick-necked bird, recognisable for being entirely black in feathers, legs, beak, and eyes. Ravens are the largest of the passerine (perching) birds in North America, with populations that are expanding. Native Americans respect ravens for their keen intelligence, often portraying them as sly and playful pranksters. Acrobats on wings, ravens are skilled hunters, forming teams to bring down prey that is too big for a single bird.

The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.
