Prairie dog families greet each other by gently touching their front teeth together, resembling a kiss. Their burrows have sleeping quarters, nurseries, toilets, air chambers for ventilation and even look-out posts for defence. Prairie dog communication is so complex, it rivals the intricacy of human language. Texas has the largest recorded prairie dog town covering 25,000 square miles with possibly four hundred million prairie dogs.

The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.
