Although census numbers show population growth, fewer than 800 endangered mountain gorillas remain in the world. Mountain gorillas sleep in individual nests made from gathered vegetation and constructed new every evening. Researchers have identified 25 different vocalisations commonly used as gorillas communicate with each other. The mountain gorillas family group consists of one or two male silverbacks, several females, and their young.

The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.
