The Lunate Cross is an equal sided cross with outward-facing crescent moons at the end of each arm. It was said to have been used as a power object by the Shamans of Northern Europe. The outward facing crescents defend the centre or heart of the cross. They also represent the four phases of the moon.
A cross with equal arms is an ancient symbol found in many cultures. The vertical beam represents the spiritual plane; that which connects us to God. The horizontal beam represents our earthly or material plane of existence. At the centre of the Lunate Cross you will find an eight-pointed star, representing regeneration, our core or centre and the creative process. It also represents stability and the fixed stars of our solar system.
The moons represent the Goddess in her many forms. The crescent moons represent our feminine nature, expressive of many moods; similar to the moon in its many phases.
Wearing the Lunate Cross will help you restore balance between your earthly and spiritual life. The Lunate Cross will also help you access your sensual, emotional nature by inviting the Goddess into your life.
