Koalas are marsupials, a special kind of mammal that carries its young in a pouch where they are sheltered and fed. Once abundant throughout the continent, koalas are now found in only 4 of the 7 states in Australia. Each of a koalas front paws has two opposable thumbs, handy for an arboreal (tree-dwelling) lifestyle. Digesting a diet of eucalyptus leaves requires so much energy that koalas sleep between 18 - 22 hours each day.

The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.

Chain option comes with a 2 mm flat link stainless steel chain of either 18 , 20 , 22 inch standard length or a 18 inch chain with an extension up to 4 inches ( 22 inch total ) in length for more flexibility and a lead free pewter accent bead. Wear them with or without bead!
