Weighing between 1 and 3 tons, African aggressive hippos are 3rd in weight behind African elephants and rhinos. Hippos spend most of the day underwater. They surface to breathe every 3 - 5 minutes, even while sound asleep. Despite its great weight, a hippo can swim 5 miles per hour and run at 30 miles per hour! Hippos are herbivores. They leave their watering holes at dusk to graze on grasses, eating over 100 lbs. of vegetation in one night.

The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.
