A giraffe will eat up to 140 lbs. of food each day, using its 18 to 21 inch-long tongue to pull down and eat acacia leaves. Giraffes have 2 hair-covered knobs called oscines at the top of their skulls. With age, males may grow a third. Ever watchful for predators, giraffes get little sleep only 5 minutes at a time, for only a half hour to 4 hours each day. A pregnant giraffe gives birth standing up, and the newborn drops 6 feet to the ground to take its first startled breath.

The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.
