The Fighting Phoenix was inspired by Professor Dumbledore's phoenix, Fawkes from the legendary Harry Potter series. The Fighting Phoenix was designed by graphics artist and Wizard, who resides in Hogwarts, The Bronx.
The Phoenix has roots in many cultures as a symbol of resurrection and immortality. Mythology tells us the Phoenix is a magnificent bird with bright red plumage. It does not feed on fruit or seeds, but on Frankincense and fragrant oils from the Sweet Gum tree. When the Phoenix has lived for five-hundred years, it builds a nest anointed with cinnamon and myrrh. The phoenix then erupts in a fiery blaze and from its ashes, is reborn into a fledgling bird. The Fighting Phoenix is a reminder of the power of our own spirit of survival. The Phoenix came to the aid of Harry Potter in his battle against the evil Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets. The phoenix renewed Harry's courage and determination to defeat a foe much greater in size and strength than him. The tears of the Phoenix then magically healed Harry's fatal wound, winning the battle of good vs. evil.
The Fighting Phoenix burns brightly as a symbol of raising from the ashes and of the power of good that resides in all of us!
