Emperor penguins dive deeper (nearly 1,800 feet) and for longer time (up to 22 minutes) than any other kind of penguin. An emperors warmth comes from a thick layer of body fat, wooly down, and 4 layers of densely packed feathers. It is the male emperor penguin who incubates the egg, sheltering it from frigid temperatures and fierce polar winds. Emperor penguins may be the worlds only birds whose entire lives are spent on sea ice without ever touching land.

The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.
