American lobsters live in the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean off the northeastern coast of North America. The lobster has two front claws or chelapeds; the bigger claw crushes prey, while the smaller claw grasps and cuts it. Lobsters can smell with their feet! They have receptors on their legs, antennas, and claws that can detect nearby food. American lobsters reach adulthood in 5 - 8 years. If not for predation they can live for 50 - 100 years.

The unique making process of these porcelain pendants allows for more detail in designs than other mediums. These designs are fired into the clay at 2200 degrees, so they will not peel or wear off. Each piece is surprisingly lightweight.
